SaskTel says due to the extent of the damage to a fibre cable that was cut, crews worked through the night to try and restore SaskTel Service in Prince Albert and eastern Saskatoon as well as several surrounding communities including Allan, Clavet, Colonsay, Drake, Lanigan, Young, Aberdeen and Moon Lake.
As of this morning the SaskTel outage page indicates service has still not been restored.
The Crown telecommunication company says Wireless, Internet, and Landline services are unavailable in the affected areas.
There is currently no estimated time for restoration.
911 emergency services remain available. However, customers impacted by the outage will not be able to connect to 911 using SaskTel services while the network is unavailable. In the event of an emergency, impacted customers will need to use another provider’s service to call 911 or physically contact emergency services for assistance.
