To kick off the long weekend earlier this month Saskatchewan RCMP’s Roving Traffic Unit seized around 900 kilograms, or almost 2,000 pounds of illegal cannabis, 25 kilograms, or around 56 pounds of hashish, and 15 litres of THC resin.

The drugs were confiscated on September 4th during a lunch hour traffic stop in the Maple Creek area.

The Roving Traffic Unit stopped an eastbound vehicle for a violation of the Saskatchewan Vehicle Equipment Regulations.

A man, who told the investigators he was travelling from British Columbia to Ontario, was arrested at the scene.

56-year-old Istvan Mikula from Rosedale, BC, is charged with one count each possession of illicit cannabis for the purpose of distribution and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 as well as two counts possession of an illicit cannabis derivative for the purpose of distribution.
