The Halftime Huddle bar in Leader was completely destroyed by fire on October 26th, 2025, and now Leader RCMP have made a second arrest.

Wednesday 28-year-old Navjot Singh from Leader was charged in connection to the fire and he is also charged in connection to the theft and arson of a commercial vehicle in Leader in November 2025 as well as with conspiracy to commit theft and arson on two commercial vehicles in leader in June and July of this year. He appeared in court Thursday.

Earlier this year on January 26th Leader RCMP arrested 50-year-old Rajinderpal Basran from Calgary in connection to the fire at the Leader sports bar three months earlier.

Navjot Singh is charged with:

-one count, conspiracy to commit arson for fraudulent purpose, Section 465(1)(c), Criminal Code;
-one count, break and enter and commit arson, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code;
-one count, arson for a fraudulent purpose, Section 435(1), Criminal Code;
-one count, counselling an offence not committed, Section 464(a), Criminal Code;
-one count, conspiracy to commit theft of a motor vehicle, Section 465(1)(c), Criminal Code;
-one count, fraud over $5000, Section 380(1), Criminal Code; and
-one count, arson – disregard for human life, Section 433(b), Criminal Code.

Rajinderpal Basran from Calgary, AB is charged with:

-one count, arson with intent to defraud, Section 435(1), Criminal Code;
-one count, fraud over $5000, Section 380(1), Criminal Code; and
-one count, arson – disregard for human life, Section 433, Criminal Code.
