The Saskatoon Blades came close to being “goaltended” for a second straight night on Saturday. However, Kazden Mathies (pictured) potted a rebound of a David Lewandowski shot past 16-year-old Moose Jaw sensation Dylan Mingo with 2:37 remaining in the third period to give the Bridge City Bunch a 3-2 victory over the visiting Warriors at SaskTel Centre.

The Mathies goal came on the Blue and Gold’s 64th shot on goal as they out-shot Moose Jaw 64-23. On Friday, the Blades lost 5-3 in Swift Current – despite out-shooting the Broncos 48-28, but being stymied by Swifty goaltender Cal Conway. Isaac Poll and Ben Bowtell notched the other goals before 3,121 fans on Saturday for Saskatoon, now 5-3-1 for the season. The Bridge City Bunch’s next action is their first weekday game of the season when they welcome the defending W-H-L-champion Everett Silvertips to SaskTel Centre on Wednesday at 6:30. Following are the audio highlights from CJWW’s broadcast, Post-Game Show interviews with head coach Dan Da Silva, Bowtell and Poll plus the official game summary courtesy the W-H-L website…..
